Atmospheric horror-score by James Horner that predates his thunderous score to Aliens.

Great script with some humourous touches.

Some very well-done gore SFX. Wolfen has a great story and some solid scares, with plenty of scenes to give you the creeps.

What makes Wolfen effective is the way we see the werewolf. We see glimpses of it and it's P.O.V. will really creep you out.

Review of Wolfen movie: The film is worth a look. For fans of " American Werewolf in London ," the more "Wolves" on the same screen came in 1981.

Adequate , reasonable plot that keeps in suspense until the end of the film , the acting is great and normal (for its time) special effects .

But to become as iconic as the " American Werewolf " , he failed reasons in my opinion somewhat

One of them - it's out in theaters in one year, and after the "American Werewolf in London " , the audience could not help comparing both films and not in favor of the " Wolves ".

Two similar film on the same topic in one year too much.

Late real fake documentary super-exploitation which both rod and the other shows welcomed what they condemn, in line with the tradition of the world movies. We are halfway between a documentary erotic ones born with Europe by Night (1959) before the classical world (Mondo Cane, 1962) and brutal pre-shockumentari the last cries of the Savanna (1974). Mattei foisted a foreign name, and so do the members of the crew so as to give greater marketability of the film. Description: The film Chop Suey is illogical, however brilliantly mounted tape, which talks about the most favorite things in the life of a photographer and director, is a magical mix of old scraps of ribbons, jazz pieces, stories of people with whom I was acquainted director interview.

Review: Bruce Weber's discovery of a gorgeous young hunk named Peter Johnson was the beginning of a marvellous collaboration that continued over four years. Plucking the young man from over a thousand boys in training as wrestlers, Weber turned Johnson into a highly-paid photographic model for Ralph Lauren, Versace, and Karl Lagerfeld. Chop Suey uses still photographs and live action footage to chart Johnson's transformation from a pretty young boy into a homoerotic icon.

But the film does much more than such a simple synopsis indicates. An autobiographical work, the film examines Weber's own career as photographer and filmmaker by bringing together, in a structure that replicates the mix of ingredients suggested by the title, a complex collage of images, ideas, reflections, personages and film materials. Weber's voice-over narration-garrulously personal and casually reflective-guides the viewer as he introduces a diverse collection of characters, including singer Frances Faye, Robert Mitchum, fashion guru Diana Vreeland and desert explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger. Sometimes interacting with them as interviewer, Johnson acts as a polished, charming and confident participant.

The glories of this film are many, and their easy fit together is the result of the brilliant editing. This is free-form filmmaking: transitions from one subject, character or kind of image to another can be startling sometimes, and there is no way to predict where the film will go next. It could be Robert Mitchum singing jazz, a small-town parade, a fashion shoot, a homely gathering around the table, or an educational moment with Weber's own wonderful collection of classic photography. But wherever it takes us, it always seems right. And the thread that binds all the ingredients together is the sense of intimacy between photographer and subject.

It's been a long time since Let's Get Lost, and I for one have missed Bruce Weber. The two intervening short films, Backyard Movie and Gentle Giants, were delightful bon bons, but with Chop Suey we get a full meal.

Description:El Ultimo Pecado de la Burguesia  is a Spanish movie by Enrique Guevara. I really hesitated to categorize this one. It starts as some kind of serious drama about a mature woman who meets another, younger one. They become friends and start going places together, doing things, even going on a holiday and sleeping in the same bed, but it’s all very proper until they meet a young man. At this point, the movie suddenly turns into a softcore epic, with the younger woman seducing first the man then her friend. And then they have a threesome, and then another threesome, and then another, so much that you begin to wonder if they’ll be having threesomes for the whole damn remaining length of the movie. But just when it threatens to become tedious, bang ! the older woman is raped by two thugs, much unhappiness ensues and it all ends in tragedy ! So exploitation it is ! The sex scenes are sometimes rather explicit for softcore, and the rape scene is as nasty as they come, so I guess it would have been a shame not to pick this up from emule in order to bring it to wipflms.

One of the two women is played by Raquel Evans who, according to imdb, was the director’s sister.  How weird can it be to direct you own sister in a sex scene ?

Another “classic” from our old mates at IFS. This is better than their previous outing, Night of the Bloody Apes, but not by much.

The story involves a jaunt organized by Professor Nugent and his students, as they go out to discover the myth of Bigfoot, who is believed to be responsible for a number of mysterious deaths out in the sticks.

The meat of the tale is told in a series of flashbacks, as a local fisherman, a guy on a motorbike and a young couple, who are having a quick ride in a camper van, (Don’t Go In The Woods Alone style) get their gory come-uppance. The fisherman gets his arm ripped out of it’s socket in quite convincing fashion. The couple get a fright as the Demon drags the guy from on top of his lass and smashes his body onto the framework of the camper van, and the motorcyclist gets his knob torn off when he goes for a quick slash. Ouch!

The daughter of the unfortunate fisherman is one of the students, and we learn later, after the group discover a black magic ritual, that the beast actually raped one of the clan – Wanda – who gave birth to a mutation. The end of the film is one of the best in the genre, as the group are stranded in a log-cabin, and are butchered one-by-one in horrific fashion by the Demon.

Here, he stabs one of them with a pitchfork, smashes another’s head through a pane of glass, and one unfortunate guy gets whipped with his own entrails! Great stuff.

Director/writer Philippe Barassat did great tribute to german expressionism and sleazy european horrors of sixties. 

Empty streets asleep cities wandering a strange creature, half-man and half-polpol similar to unnatural hybrid of two of Shrek: the one that played when something unforgettable Nosferatu in Murnau, and the hero of children's cartoons. Only he has no sinister obsession first, neither charming ugliness second only sad doom of the outcast and the eternal fear of a hunted beast. Monster, barely touching his feet, clad in iron boots, walks on secluded streets and wide avenues, looking into the Windows of the dying beauties, in order then to go to the cemetery with a funeral procession, hide in the shadow of the graves with a shovel in his hands and patiently wait for, finally, grieving relatives leave this valley of tears and sorrow. Then comes the time of Necrophila: to dig up the corpse, to bring it into their pathetic closet, undress, lay down, and... Yes, and eat it, too - the eating ghouls, known to all. But the hero shorts Philip Barossa not enough to saturate your body. This wretched, and miserable freak craves love and care that dear to his heart (or whatever it instead of the body there) corpses to give him unable. But once in the door of his room, the phone rings, and two policemen left in the hands of the wretched ghoul little girl with the Golden hair: beautiful orphan, cruel fate will rest in the care of the ugly... And the screen turns another version of the immortal story of Beauty and the Beast.

Told stylized under German genexpression 20-ies (no wonder Murnau here quoted almost directly) the story of strange love, the impossible friendship and perverted sacrifice to the grave and after destroying all ideas of beauty, will reverse the poles of good and evil and without any fulcrum turns morality. All external: trupoint and thropologist, despair and loneliness, beauty and ugliness - retreats in the face of love, which does not choose. And which is capable of even the most outrageous being to see the best and clean. And all that is left out of this feeling out of this friendship/love two completely alien to each other creatures, can any pounding his fists on the table and threaten all possible punishments. Because, ultimately, this world is not the only one. And nobody has yet proved, contrary to the belief of Leibniz that he is the best of all.

But, as it turned out, was the third, which managed to escape with a suitcase marked police money. 've only seen one officer of the detachment, which found that the culprit is his former colleague.

That is Dominik Grafs movie about a unique device of Germanys authorities. Made in 1994, it's his most committed movie thus far. Regrettably, it was a package office flop, and he switched to TV afterwards. Description: Right, one for the anarchists among you here... This is an adaptation of a BS Johnson novel, that flits between 17th century Italy and 20th century London (not always very well!!), to recount a tale about a man who is so frustrated with his humdrum job, he creates a way of life that goes on the premise that "For every credit, there must be a debit". In other words, for every thing that fucks the film's protagonist off (parking ticket, excessive taxes), he makes society pay a debt by committing acts of terrorism. Of course, this film is a total obscurity because no one would touch it after 9/11 - the trailer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0213561/trailers-screenplay-E28942-314) makes it look more exciting than it actually is. A weird, half baked film that could have the makings of a cult classic... I'd be very curious to hear your respective opinions on it!!
