Review: This American movie, which is a variation on the themes of the novel of the Czech emigrant Milan Kundera, became one of the films of the 1988 season. That was, of course, is connected not only with the twentieth anniversary of those tragic events, when in August 1968 in Prague tanks entered the Warsaw Pact countries. First of all, the authors of the film failed (and first of all this should be said about the Director Filipe Kaufmane) hurt «nerve time», make the story is equally close and attractive not only Czechs but practically for audiences in many countries and, most importantly, for Americans, a little concerned about what is not included in the scope of their «national interests».

Of course, you could explain the increased attention to the «Unbearable lightness of being» adult content picture (here and here it was first shown at the Moscow film festival in the framework of the program, devoted to the topic of sex in the cinema). But, as in the case of «politically criminal plot, provocative erotic, fortunately, did not become an end in itself (unlike the subsequent work Kaufman, «Henry and June» about the writer Henry Miller, his wife and mistress, writer anais NIN).

However, «Captain Pantoja and the Special Services», is an open satire on the army, the bureaucracy and society in General. So lovers erotica there is clearly nothing shines.

Description of Shirts Up Knickers Down movie:This is in German but, according to imdb, is in fact an Austrian movie. The imdb says it was released in 1973 but the rip I found is tagged 1972. Take your pick.

Since I don’t speak the language, I don’t exactly know what it is about (if anything), but it has the same staples as 70s German sex-comedies : lots of nudity and fornicating people plus less-than-hilarious (therefore irrestistible) gags, such as a man sneezing while he kisses a woman. Also, and I swear I’m not making this up, this one has talking cars. See if it doesn’t !
